For many, there’s a natural tendency to shift the blame to others when something goes wrong, and to take the credit for themselves when things are successful.

And even if we don’t announce it to the world, we may still find ourselves internally blaming everyone else for our problems, but claiming the credit for all the things that have turned out well.

But in doing so, there can be a lack of consistency. If others are responsible when things don’t work out, wouldn’t it be logical that they would also be responsible when things go well? And if we had nothing to do with the problems in our lives, why do we assume that we had everything to do with the successes?
