The value of having the right tool is hard to overstate. Sometime we see this if we’re working on our car, or making improvements around the house. We have a specific task that needs to be be done, but without the right tool, it can turn into quite an ordeal. In those cases, having the proper tool not only saves a lot of time, but also leads to better results with fewer headaches along the way.

Now, if we really want to, we can usually make a variety of things ‘work.’ But just because something ‘works,’ doesn’t mean it’s the best choice. For instance, I could hammer in nails with a screwdriver, but a hammer would be a better option if it’s available.

Of course, the right tool often will cost you something. But depending on the task or the tool, it can be well worth the price. And this applies to much more than mechanical tools. Whether at work, at home, in relationships, etc.—having the right tools at the right time can make all the difference.
